Silent Mind Meditation Program

The art of Meditation is to bring the mind to a state of stillness such that thoughts no longer interfere with pure Reality and that which lies beyond time, space and self can be Realized.
The Silent Mind (SM) Meditation Program is designed to help create this silence within by teaching the practitioner the powerful Silent Mind Meditation system.
SM is based on the power of the individual to develop acute perception into the workings of their own mind in order to perceive the Truth of What Is. It integrates Yoga, Pranayam (breathing exercises) and Bandhas (subtle body locks to channel energy) to build the environment to support the Silent Mind Meditations that are the core focus of the program.

It is designed as a course book where the program spans 12 weeks. The early weeks teach basic meditations and specific Yoga Sets to prepare the body and mind for the potent Silent Mind Meditations that come later in the course. Thus, it is very useful to the novice as well as the advanced practitioner. Overall, it is simply a very effective approach for transcending the ordinary, reactive mind.
See more on this Silent Meditation Program at AnmolMehta.com, which is an incredibly interesting website dedicated to Meditation, Yoga and Zen.

Spiritual Being--Physical Experience

Physical Bodies on Earth

We are on this earth, in our physical bodies, because our souls have things to learn that we could not learn in any other way. It is through our physical body and the physical world that we can experience life. Purely spiritual beings are just that - they are in a state of being rather than doing – in a place that is beyond the limitations of time and space. But when we incarnate on the physical plane, we are automatically subject to the laws of physics and the world of dualities. In this place, we know what happiness is because we have experienced sadness, and we understand the value and power of light because we have known darkness. Knowing this, we have the opportunity to let ourselves be spiritual beings having a physical experience.

There is no pain in the spiritual realm, because we know we are one with the limitless source of the universe. But here, in the material realm, our sense of limitation and separation allows us to feel our emotions and to learn about love, forgiveness, and compassion. We go from a spiritual state of oneness to learning how to be in relationship with people who are different and distinct individuals. We learn to understand ourselves through our relationships with the world around us—its seasons and landscapes, challenges and opportunities. And through our journey to find our place among so many others, we begin to recognize our own glimmer of light in a constellation of stars.

Once we remember that we are spiritual beings, we can revel in the experience of being human while knowing we are all connected. We can live from the place of oneness while truly appreciating the beauty of diversity, the bittersweet feel of love and loss, and the elation of triumph over challenges and adversity. It is through these opposites that we experience life itself, and we can ride through the dark times with the understanding that it will help us to appreciate the light of life and love and spirit more fully. We are here now because we made the choice to experience an earth life, so now we can choose to enjoy the journey as completely as possible.

Sacred Geometry: Flower of Life

The "Flower of Life" can be found in all major religions of the world. It contains the patterns of creation as they emerged from the "Great Void". Everything is made from the Creator's thought. After the creation of the Seed of Life the same vortex's motion was continued, creating the next structure known as the Egg of Life. This structure forms the basis for music, as the distances between the spheres is identical to the distances between the tones and the half tones in music. It is also identical to the cellular structure of the third embryonic division (The first cell divides into two cells, then to four cells then to eight). Thus this same structure as it is further developed, creates the human body and all of the energy systems including the ones used to create the Merkaba. If we continue creating more and more spheres we will end up with the structure called the Flower of Life.

The flower of life holds a secret symbol created by drawing 13 circles out of the Flower of Life. By doing this, one can discover the most important and sacred pattern in the universe. This is the source of all that exists; it's called the Fruit of Life. It contains 13 informational systems. Each one explains another aspect of reality. Thus these systems are able to give us access to everything ranging from the human body to the galaxies. In the first system, for example, it's possible to create any molecular structure and any living cellular structure that exists in the universe. In short every living creature.

Integral Theory

Established by Ken Wilber, The Integral Theory is an all-inclusive framework that draws on the key insights of the world’s greatest knowledge traditions. The awareness gained from drawing on all truths and perspectives allows the Integral thinker to bring new depth, clarity and compassion to every level of human endeavor — from unlocking individual potential to finding new approaches to global-scale problems.

Ken Wilber is the world's leading “integral” philosopher. The author of such titles as A Brief History of Everything (1996) and A Theory of Everything (2000), his philosophy integrates body, mind, soul, and Spirit with self, culture, and nature. Integral philosophy is rapidly becoming a powerful presence in fields as diverse as politics and spirituality, psychology and business, medicine, and art.
Revered as the “Einstein of consciousness,” Wilber has written sixteen books exploring different facets of human development and cultural evolution. His first book, The Spectrum of Consciousness (1977), written when he was only 23, became a seminal text in the emerging field of transpersonal psychology. His most recent book, Boomeritis (2002), is a novelized critique of our postmodern culture and a call to move to a higher, more integral relationship to life. He is currently finishing the third volume of his Kosmos Trilogy, the most up-to-date summation of his continually evolving philosophy.
In 2000, Wilber founded the Integral Institute to support and promote integral thinking. The Institute acts as a clearinghouse for research and applications using the integral approach, and recently launched an engaging online resource, “Integral Naked,” to introduce cutting-edge integral thinkers to the public. His latest project is the development of Integral University, an online learning community that will offer accredited courses in a variety of fields such as Integral Ecology and Integral Law.
With a growing popularity among the younger generations, Wilber's philosophy has sparked online discussion forum communities and e-zines, as well as live gatherings called integral salons. United under the banner of “IntegralNEXT,” their mission is “to help create connections between individuals and groups who are seeking to enact an integral vision in their day-to-day lives—people yearning for true integration, genuine transformation, and whole-hearted communion.”

All Quadrants All Levels (tm)

In the Integral theory of Ken Wilber, AQAL stands for "All levels, all quadrants", and equally connotes "all lines, all states, all types". An account or theory is said the be AQAL, and thus integral (or inclusive or comprehensive), if it accounts for or makes reference to all four quadrants and four major levels in Wilber's ontological scheme, described below.
Recently, Wilber has called AQAL an "Integral Operating System" (IOS) because, using a computer analogy, once IOS is installed, you can run any "applications software" on it (i.e., applications to organizational issues; leadership development; political, health, and environmental problems; personal psychological and spiritual transformation, etc.)

Severn Suzuki - Environmental Activist

Severn Cullis-Suzuki has been active in environmental and social justice work since kindergarten. At age 9, she started the Environmental Children’s Organization, a group of children committed to learning and teaching other kids about environmental issues. They were successful in raising enough money to appear at 1992’s Rio Earth Summit, and 12-year-old Severn delivered a powerful speech which gained worldwide attention. For this she received the UN Environment Program’s Global 500 Award at a ceremony in Beijing, China.

See the video of the speech delivered by Severn Suzuki at the 1992’s Rio Earth Summit here.

As a member of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan’s Special Advisory Panel, Cullis-Suzuki brought a document called the Recognition of Responsibility to the UN World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa. The trip also was the subject of a documentary film that aired on CBC’s long-running documentary series The Nature of Things.

Cullis-Suzuki has spoken worldwide on the necessity of redefining our values, acting with the future in mind, and listening to children. She co-founded the Skyfish Project, an Internet-based think tank that encourages youth to speak out for their future and adopt a sustainable lifestyle.

Cullis-Suzuki has completed a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale University, and more recently, a Masters in Ethnobotany from the University of Victoria, British Columbia.

THE SKYFISH PROJECT

In the spring of 2002, Severn and some friends founded an internet-based discussion group and website called The Skyfish Project. The daughter of a well-known Canadian scientist/environmentalist/TV host, Severn travels around the world speaking to delegates, students, and corporations about taking steps to a more sustainable, responsible, and just future for the planet.

Accepting Yourself

A Dynamic Choice-Maker There is no such thing as a good person or a bad person. There are choices and actions that lead us in different directions, and it is through those choices and actions that we create our realities. Sometimes we choose or do something that takes us in the opposite direction of the reality we want to create for ourselves. When we do this, we feel bad—uneasy, unhappy, unsure. We might go so far as to label ourselves “bad” when a situation like this arises. Instead of labeli… Continue

no-thing-ness

It's very important to understand that everything that exists—the whole universe, including each and every one of us, is a manifest or material expression of that which does not exist. From nothing came something. The unmanifest became the manifest. From emptiness, from the void, this whole material universe, which eventually gave rise to life, emerged. So everything that exists came from nothing. Nothing is the source of everything that is. That which became everything is that nonmaterial spiri… Continue

Permission To Forgive Ourselves

Releasing Guilt Learning to accept the things that we perceive as wrong can be a difficult task for many of us. Often we have been brought up to accept that it is normal to feel guilty about our actions and that by doing so we will make everything seem alright within ourselves. Even though we might feel that we have a reason to make up for the choices we have made, it is much more important for us to learn how to deal with them in a healthy and positive way, such as through forgiveness and unde… Continue

Dealing with Anger

Unblocking The Ally Sometimes when we feel anger, it is coming from a deep place that demands acknowledgment and expression. At these times, it is important that we find healthy ways to honor our anger, remembering how dangerous it is to repress it. However, anger can also become a habit, our go-to emotion whenever things go wrong. Often this is because, for whatever reason, we feel more comfortable expressing anger than we do other emotions, like sadness. It can also be that getting angry giv… Continue

Fear is the greatest enemy

Banish all fear. Never be drawn into the whirlpool or you will be unable to pull yourselves out of it. Know that all is very, very well and concentrate on all of the best in life. Realise what a truly wonderful life it is and be everlastingly grateful. Be thankful that you are a part of it, and what is more, have an important part to play in it. The more you concentrate on all the chaos and confusion in the world the more life-force you give it. You are not to do that, for your work is to create… Continue

Areveda,
What a poetic sound your name has. I can not place it to any Latin or Greek name that may be the roots to it. How did you get to this magical name?

I have read 1/3 of what you present in the digital world and see that you are very happy with who you are today and that you wear your heart well :> I find you a comfortable person by first impression.

How did you spend your weekend? I was with a very large LGBT family in S.F. and walked and talked very peacefully and enjoyed a cup of latte in a very LGBT popular place and perfect weather. I saw so many of my family members that need a lot of healing.

It would be pleasure getting to know you.

That from which this world manifests, That in which it dissolves,

That by which it sustains itself, That is the Self of all.

That is Eternal, That is Knowledge, and is full of Bliss,

That Truth, I know, from which nothing is far off.

That’s splendor sung by sages,

That meditated upon by the seers,

That evading all comprehension, the great ruler That Self is.

That fails the speech in telling, That fails the mind to reveal,

The grandeur of That is so, beyond any expressive means.

With blessings Divine the scriptural knowledge,

stands completely revealed when,

In depth and profundity, will I be satisfied then.

I am Dedicated to Being the Best Person I Can

What does it mean to dedicate to my life? It means that the actions I take and the choices I make convey the very character and nature of divine love.

I am dedicated to living a divinely directed life. And from such a dedication, I find that I am never satisfied with doing anything less than what blesses me because I am being a blessing to others.

I act in loving ways and respond to others with understanding. As I do, I lay a foundation for living that will be a source of inspiration for the next generation to build upon.

I am dedicated to being the best person I can be. Listening to divinely inspired ideas and following the guidance I receive, I fulfill my role in life.

Must be because I have seen you quite often while browsing and each time something in me felt close and nodded in synchronicity :-)
Well, I am honoured to share the vib with you dear friend and will be browsing your pages quite often, for sure.

Life Means Suffering

To live means to suffer, because the human nature is not perfect and neither is the world we live in. During our lifetime, we inevitably have to endure physical suffering such as pain, sickness, injury, tiredness, old age, and eventually death; and we have to endure psychological suffering like sadness, fear, frustration, disappointment, and depression. Although there are different degrees of suffering and there are also positive experiences in life that we perceive as the opposite of suffering, such as ease, comfort and happiness, life in its totality is imperfect and incomplete, because our world is subject to impermanence. This means we are never able to keep permanently what we strive for, and just as happy moments pass by, we ourselves and our loved ones will pass away one day, too.

The Origin Of Suffering Is Attachment

The origin of suffering is attachment to transient things and the ignorance thereof. Transient things do not only include the physical objects that surround us, but also ideas, and -in a greater sense- all objects of our perception. Ignorance is the lack of understanding of how our mind is attached to impermanent things. The reasons for suffering are desire, passion, ardour, pursuit of wealth and prestige, striving for fame and popularity, or in short: craving and clinging. Because the objects of our attachment are transient, their loss is inevitable, thus suffering will necessarily follow. Objects of attachment also include the idea of a "self" which is a delusion, because there is no abiding self. What we call "self" is just an imagined entity, and we are merely a part of the ceaseless becoming of the universe.
