how to create a video, basic overview, step 1

This class will demonstrate the basic procedures on how to create an inspirational video which can be uploaded to You Tube, My Space, here in Spirit Path or many other places. I've created a number of them myself and put them on my own Spirit path page which you can view as examples. I don't claim to be an expert on video editing however I believe I can show you the fundamentals and you can create your own. If anyone has any additional knowledge on this subject you would like to share feel free. following is what you will need:

1. a script of what you want to say in your movie
2. lots of photos which you will place in your video and which set the mood
3. a song which also sets the mood
4. a video editing program such as Windows Movie Maker which comes with Windows
5. a music editing program such as the Free CD Ripper
6. inspiration
7. time


Once you get your script (40 to 50 short statements of 5 words or so) and about an equal number of photos which you can get on Flickr or Photobucket and a song score you will put it all together and sequence it in Windows Movie Maker or a similar program such a Cakewalk. There will be subsequent discussons on this topic but the following movie will demonstrate some of the fundamentals as it records me in the process of making an actual movie. The screen size will be very small (unfortunately what happens when you upload to You Tube) but I've added video narration so you can tell what is going on

Yes you absolutely can share this with your group. The more people creating inspirational videos the better.

Please forgive the size of the screen in the embedded videos where I show you onscreen how to create videos. When converting formats and uploading these videos to You Tube then tend to get really small. I did, however, add voice narration so you can see what I'm doing.

Anyone who also has video editing experience in the group is welcome to share your ideas and your videos also. I know Liane and Cheryl and perhaps a few other people in Humanity Healing have created videos and even have quite a bit more experience at it than I do. I have a feeling there are probably lots more people here in this group that have done it besides the three of us and I bet they have a lot to share. Anyway feel free to share your knowledge and your questions. Show us your video after you create it. Happy editing.

Homework: Review the following videos created by Humanity Healing members and see if you can determine how they were created using the steps above. Notice use of inspirational messages, music, pictures that grab the emotions, and special effects. We'll talk about ways to add all of those in subsequent lessons.
